• But it is recommended under the BS:9999:2017 to check them every 6 months.
• If fire doors are not regularly checked this will go against the ‘Responsible Person’ or ‘Duty Holder’ in court after a major fire.
• It is stated in section 1.6.2 ‘All fire doors should be inspected every 6 months’
• Regular checks safeguards fire fighters in a potential fire to do their job safely to save residents and the building.
